Hit and Run
The footage above is real surveylance footage. IT IS NOT WHAT I WITNESSED EARLY SUNDAY MORNING. The accounts I am about to describe I did witness, but no actual footage was caught on camera.
Let me set the scene...I'm on the way home on Saturday night and in the back seat of a San Francisco Yellow Cab. Chatting with the cabbie as to how his night was, "busy," he replies. As we approach the final right turn to get me home...BAM...it happens. The Cadilac, driving the same direction with traffic as I, they begin to turn left on the very same street I am going right. But, BAM, another car is driving through the intersection in the opposite direction gets hit by the turning Cadilac. The Cadilac absolutely did not have the right of way. Both cars were stopped in the intersection, air bags deployed in the non-cadilac and smoke coming out of the car and engine. All passengers were fine, but very startled. As the non-cadilac passengers exit their vehicle, the cadilac backs away and speeds off!
This is where it gets fun...the cabbie looks at me, hits the meeter "$9.50" and speeds off to catch the fleeing cadilac! My first move...buckle up of course! With the cadilac a block and a half in front of us, they turn right down a street and by the time we turn right the cadilac is parked and the passengers are no where to be found!
The Cabbie and I succesfully flagged down a cop and gave the details of situation. Monday, I will be accepting the key to the city from Mayor Gavin Newsom...I'm thinking of fighting crime like batman...
